TOM - Here are some strips I did way back in the winter time. Either one, or both of these will be published in the next Dapper Chaps Quarterly. The theme for the issue was 'strips', we were free to interprete that word any way we liked. I decided to go with a couple strips about strips.
These are both really funny and well drawn. All of the different angles make them exciting to read. My favorite panel is the last one in the snoring strip.
oh man, those both totally cracked me up - really well done. i think the second-to-third panel transition on the snoring one is perfect, as is the panel grid design of the waxing one.
y'know, i see your illustrations all the time, and when you whip out a comic strip, i forget how well you do this shit. your visual/narrative voice comes across so sincerely - it seems effortless and pleasant to digest. if you do more of these, keep posting them, cuz they're great.
The storytelling here is really sophisticated...because it's so basic. Like, you could use these to teach kids about how pictures tell stories. I'm impressed.
