Complex Magazine

TOM - Here's a recent illustration I did for Complex Magazine about 'preppy douchebags'. Tim over at Complex really helped me to push their douchebaggy-ness. This was fun!

There's a place in hell...

TOM - Here's another in the series I'm working on incorporating type and illustration. These words come from a Morrissey song title, a line I always liked and wanted to create an image for. It was nice to kinda loosen up on the inks with this one and just have fun.
I couldn't help but throw it in Photoshop and add some simple color on the drawing part. More new drawings to come and details about the upcoming show on the way, so stay tuned!

Philadelphia City Paper!

TOM - I illustrated this weeks cover for the Philadelphia City Paper. Apparently, there is a dredging project going on in the Delaware River which will deepen the river by 5 feet to allow for larger ships to pass through. Because of the massive environmental implications this could have on the environment, Maya van Rossum is trying to stop this from happening. If you're curious about it, check out the article here. As always, I had a lot of fun working with the crew at Philly City Paper and was super glad to get to create two covers for them this month!

They did a really nice job incorporating the type too. As always, if you're in Philly, pick up a copy and let me know how it printed! Thanks for reading!

'Tougher Than The Rest'

TOM - I wil be participating in a group show in Philly in early July! Really excited about it because I'm going to be creating all new pieces just for the show, 9 all together. Here is a look at one of the few that I've completed so far. All the pieces will incorporate type along with an image, some of the quotes will be pulled from songs, others will be random phrases that pop into my head. All will be drawn in a bold black and white style that i'm really having fun with. Keep checking in as I will be posting more of these as they get completed. I'll also be posting all the info for the show as it get closer. Hope everyone had an awesome weekend!

T-Shirts!

TOM- So psyched about this! Ok, so this weekend I took a trip out to Staten Island to print up some shirts in probably the coolest attic I've ever been in. Proccess pics below:
First of all, this was all made possible by Amy at Aborn Designs, thanks a bunch, Amy! Check out this set up, pretty cool, right? I felt like I was on the set of Sabrina the Teenage Witch! Anyway, so there's the station without the screen and shirts hooked up...

...and here it is ready to start printing. I haven't done any printing in a long time and it felt so good to be in that groove again.

Here are some of the shirts as they were drying. I really liked the festive Cinco de Mayo-ish lighting.

And here are a couple detail shots...

Now they are folded up in my room and ready to be sold to you!
Here are the details if you're interested: They are printed on American Apparel, 100% cotton crew neck t shirts. This is a real limited run, so get 'em while they're hot! I have some smalls, some mediums and a couple larges. I made these for both guys and girls, but ladies, keep in mind that they fit a bit on the larger side, but they tend to shrink to a nice size after a couple washes. I like to rock mine with the sleeves rolled up a little anyways.
Ok, so if you want one, there are a couple ways you could purchase.:
Visit my Esty store and order through there. They are $12 a pop plus $2 for shipping= $14
Or, you can simply send me an email with your address and I'll be glad to send you one that way.
As of now, I'm only accepting payments through Paypal.
As a little thanks from me to you, I'll also be including a small original drawing with every shirt I send out! Now I feel like an infomercial...
I'm really excited about these, I had such a great time making them and I truly hope to do more in the very near future. I'll totally keep you posted!
